Bonitas and Fedhealth have made changes to their contributions and benefits effective 1 January 2025. Read an overview of the changes and contribution rates.

Compare medical scheme options

The selected Western Cape Blood Service schemes are Bonitas or Fedhealth. There are many different options within the two medical schemes offered, in terms of affordability and health needs. Use this tool to filter and compare the options that are most appropriate for you and your family.

Note: There is currently a window period for Bonitas/Fedhealth members and their existing dependants to switch schemes without the imposition of waiting periods, exclusions or new late joiner penalties effective 1 January 2025.

How to use the tool

1. The rates are automatically calculated for the main member.
2. Select “add dependant” to add spouse, adult(s), or child(ren).
3. Answer the three questions relating to hospital and day-to-day cover.
4. Select your budget range using the sliding scale.
5. The option comparison tool will start generating your contribution and order based on benefit richness.
6. By selecting “Group by plan type”, the table will group the plans allowing you to expand and collapse the groupings.
7. To view further detailed information about the plans, select the required plans by clicking on each row. Once completed, click the “View Comparison” button.
8. To revert to the list of plans, click the “Back to Selection” button.

Gap changes

Admed Gap has made some adjustments to their benefits and rates for 2025. The contribution payable from January is R211 per family per month.

How to change your option / scheme

Please complete the relevant option change form and return to your HR department before the end of November for effective date 1 January.

How to join gap cover

If you are not already an Admed Gap member, you have the opportunity to join the product on 1 January 2025. Certain Waiting Periods may apply.
