Medical scheme changes

Momentum Health have made changes to their contributions and benefits effective 1 January 2025. Read an overview of the changes to the benefits and contributions by clicking on the below icon.

Compare medical scheme options

The selected Gerber Goldschmidt Group medical scheme is Momentum Health. Contributions are a payroll deduction. There are many different medical scheme options within the medical scheme in terms of affordability and health needs. Use this tool to filter and compare the options that are most appropriate for you and your family.

How to use the tool

  1. The rates are automatically calculated for the main member.
  2. Select “add dependant” to add spouse, adult(s), or child(ren).
  3. Answer the three questions relating to hospital and day-to-day cover.
  4. Select your budget range using the sliding scale.
  5. The option comparison tool will start generating your contribution and order based on benefit richness.
  6. By selecting “Group by plan type”, the table will group the plans allowing you to expand and collapse the groupings.
  7. To view further detailed information about the plans, select the required plans by clicking on each row. Once completed, click the “View Comparison” button.
  8. To revert to the list of plans, click the “Back to Selection” button.

Gap changes

Admed Gap has made some adjustments to their benefits and rates for 2025. The Gerber Goldschmidt Group premium will increase from R350 to R373 per family per month effective
1 January 2025.

Window Period

There will be a 3-month window period for Gerber Goldschmidt Group employees to take up Momentum Gap cover on 1 Jan, 1 Feb or 1 March 2025. During this time, the 3-month waiting period will be waived, however the 9-month & 12-month waiting periods for the below pre-existing conditions will still be applied:

Primary care changes

There have been some changes to the benefit and contribution for 2025 on Momentum Health4Me. Please refer to the Momentum Health4Me brochure for 2025 for further information.

How to change your option / scheme

If you want to change your option effective 1 January 2025, please complete the medical scheme option change form and submit to your employer before the internal deadline date.

Momentum Health4Me

You may join Momentum Health4Me based on your branch healthcare policy. Please note that you may not be a member of Momentum Health and Health4Me at the same time and that Momentum Health 4Me is aimed at members earning below R40 000 per month.

Momentum Health4Me is not a medical scheme, but a long-term insurance product and should not be considered a substitute for medical scheme membership.  Benefits are limited to primary care benefits and do not include benefits such as planned procedures in hospital, prescribed minimum benefits and specialised services
